EASN-TIS participates in an ambitious EU-Japan collaboration on the efficient manufacturing of aircraft composite parts through the recently launched project EFFICOMP: Efficient Composite parts manufacturing.
EFFICOMP is a research collaboration project funded by the European Commission under the H2020 research and innovation programme. It brings together a disciplinary consortium of five European and four Japanese entities in order to examine innovative methods for enabling the reduction of cost and increase of ramp up production of composite parts for structural application on aerospace products, while certification cost reduction for new issues such as sparking characterization during lightning strike impact will also be addressed. The ambitious project was launched on April 2016 and it is scheduled to be developed across a 36-month period.
More information about the project can be found at the EFFICOMP project website.
